AB  - Tüketici güvenendeksi, tüketim fonksiyonunun açıklanmasına yönelik hem geleneksel tüketimteorilerinde hem de uygulamalı literatürde genellikle göz ardı edilen birdeğişken olmuştur. Halbuki tüketici güven endeksi hanehalkının mevcut vegelecekteki ekonomik durum ile tasarruf ve tüketim eğilimlerine ilişkin önemlidüzeyde bilgiler içermektedir. Bu bakımdan mevcut çalışmanın amacı tüketimfonksiyonunda genellikle yer almayan tüketici güven endeksinin etkisini birçokçalışmanın aksine hem kısa hem de uzun dönem itibariyle ortaya koymaktır. Buamaç doğrultusunda iki farklı model tahmini yapılmıştır. İlk modelde tüketicigüven endeksi dışlanırken ikinci modelde açıklayıcı değişken olarak fonksiyonunsağına dahil edilmiştir. Kısa ve uzun dönem dinamikleri ARDL sınır testiyaklaşımı kullanılarak elde edilmiştir. Çalışmada kullanılan veri seti2004:Q1-2018:Q3 dönemine ilişkin reel gelir, faiz oranı, enflasyon, reel tüketimharcamaları ve tüketici güven endeksinden oluşmaktadır. Elde edilen bulgularagöre tüketici güven endeksi hem kısa hem de uzun dönemde hanehalkı tüketimharcamalarını açıklayabilen bilgi seti içinde yer alan önemli bir öncü göstergedir.
