AB  - Tıbbileştirme, tıbbiolmayan bir sorunu tanımlamak için tıbbi terimler kullanılmasını, bir sorununtıbbi çerçeveden sunulmasını veya onu “tedavi etmek" amacıyla tıbbi birmüdahalenin gerekliliğini ifade eder. Bu sorun tıp mesleğini ilgilendiren birsorun olarak karşımıza çıkabileceği gibi, tıp mesleğini ilgilendirmeyen birdurum da olabilir. Bu doğrultuda çalışmanın amacı, sağlık haberlerinde sıklıklakullanılan ve sağlık okuryazarlık düzeyi düşük bireyleri yanıltma ve sağlığıolumsuz yönde etkileme ihtimali olan, yaşlanmanın tıbbileştirilmesini, biryazın taraması yaparak ve haberlerde yer alan ifadelerle sunarak ortaya koymayaçalışmaktır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda Sabah, Yeni Şafak, Hürriyet ve Milliyet gazetelerinde01.01.2017- 31.12.2017 tarihleri arasında yayımlanan, içerisinde yaşlanmaterimi geçen sağlık içerikli metinler eleştirel söylem analizinin sunduğukuramsal ve metodolojik pencereden çözümlenmiştir.Çalışmada kuramsalanlamda tüketim kültürü kuramının yanında sağlık anlayışının değişimi ve yenisağlık anlayışının oluşumu da değerlendirilmiştir. Araştırmanın sonucunda;internet gazetelerinde sağlık söylemi ile yaşamın doğal sürecinde yer alanyaşlanmanın tıbbi açıdan ele alındığı ve çözümünün birey düzeyindekonumlandırılarak tıbbileştirilirken öte yandan okuyucuları tüketime teşvikettiği tespit edilmiştir.

N2  - Medicalization refers to using medical terms to describe anon-medical problem, to present a problem from the medical framework or the necessity for amedical intervention in order to “treat” it. This problem may be a problemconcerning the medical profession, or it may be a condition that does notconcern the medical profession. In this direction, the aim of the study is to try to reveal the medicalization of agingthat is frequently used in health news and that has the possibility to misguidethe individuals whose health-literacy level is low and to affect the health negatively by conducting review of literature and presenting it with theexpressions included in the news. For this purpose, the health-containing texts that had the term of aging and that werepublished in Sabah, Yeni Şafak, Hürriyet and Milliyet newspapers between01.01.2017 and 31.12.2017 were analyzed from the theoretical and methodologicalwindow presented by critical discourse analysis from qualitative researchdesigns.In the study, besidesthe theory of consumption culture in the theoretical sense, the change in theunderstanding of health and the formation of new health understanding were alsoevaluated. As a result of the research; itwas determined that the medicalization of aging with health discourse and theaging in the natural process of life were taken from the medical point of viewand the solution was placed on the individual level, and on the other hand itencouraged readers to consume
