Manyscholars, ancient and modern alike, have explored Plato’s conception ofphilosophy. This article is yet another attempt to understand the correctmanner of doing philosophy for Plato. To this end, I examine Plato’s Phaedo to contribute the growing body of literature on Plato’s metaphilosophy. This studyfund identifies that the attitude of true philosophers towards body and itspleasures together with their care of the soul separate them from other wise humans, and that true philosophers are aware of the limits of human cognition andepistemic access. I conclude that the practice of philosophers is partly shapedby their recognition of the value of human knowledge and the deficiencies ofthis sort of knowledge. CR - Archer-Hind, Richard Dacre. The Phaedo of Plato.
