AB  - The aim of this studywas to analyze the relationship between school psychological counselors’secondary traumatic stress and social problem-solving levels. The sample of this research wasconsisted of 268 school psychological counselors who were working affiliated toTurkey Ministry of National Education in Amasya, İstanbul and Samsun. Secondary TraumaticStress Scale and Social Problem Solving Inventory were used as data collectiontools in this study. As a result of theresearch, while there were significant positive correlations betweenparticipants’ the secondary traumatic stress levels and negative problemorientation, impulsive-careless style, avoidancestyle dimensions of the social problem solving, there were not significantcorrelations between positive problem orientation and rational problem-solvingstyle of the social problem solving. Another finding of the study, aspsychological counselors’ level of social problem solving increased, secondarytraumatic stress levels were found to decreased. As psychological counselors’levels of negative problem orientation, impulsive-careless style and avoidancestyles were increased, secondary traumatic stress levels were found toincreased. Finally, while negative problemorientation was found a positive predictor of the school counselors’ secondarytraumatic stress levels, positive problem orientation, rational problemsolving, impulsive-careless style and avoidant style were not significant predictor of the secondarytraumatic stress.

N2  - Bu çalışmanın amacı okul psikolojik danışmanlarınınikincil travmatik stres ve sosyal problem çözme düzeyleri arasındaki ilişkiyiincelemektir. Bu araştırmanın örneklemi Amasya, İstanbul ve Samsun’da MilliEğitim Bakanlığı’na bağlı olarak çalışmakta olan 268 psikolojik danışmandanoluşmaktadır. Bu çalışmada veri toplama aracı olarak İTSÖ ve SPÇE kullanılmıştır. Bu çalışma sonucunda katılımcıların ikincil travmatikstress düzeyleri ile sosyal problem çözmenin negatif problem yönelimi,içtepisel-dikkatsiz stil, kaçınan stil boyutları arasında pozitif yönlü anlamlıilişkiler bulunurken; pozitif problem yönelimi ve[1]akılcı problem çözme stili ile anlamlı ilişkiler bulunmamıştır. Psikolojikdanışmanların problem çözme becerileri arttıkça, ikincil travmatik stressdüzeylerinin azaldığı bulunmuştur. Psikolojik danışmanların negatif problemyönelimi, içtepisel/dikkatsiz stil ve kaçınan stil düzeyleri arttıkça ikinciltravmatik stress düzeylerinin arttığı bulunmuştur. Son olarak, negatif problemyönelimi okul psikolojik danışmanlarının ikincil travmatik stress düzeylerininpozitif anlamlı yordayıcısı iken; pozitif problem yönelim, akılcı problemçözme, içtepisel-dikkatsiz stil ve kaçınan stilin ikincil travmatik stressdüzeylerinin anlamlı bir yordayıcısı değildir.
