N2  - Congenital toxoplasmosis is a rare infection transmitted to the fetus from an acutely infected mother during the pregnancy. In neonates, the disease has a broad spectrum ranging from a mild form that can only be serologically detected to a severe form that presents with chorioretinitis, meningitis, hydrocephalus, and intracranial calcifications. In this article, we report a fatal case of congenital toxoplasmosis that presented with meningitis at the late postnatal period. Although prenatal ultrasonography showed dilatation of lateral ventricles, the serological tests were negative during the postnatal period and the patient was diagnosed to have toxoplasmosis with the cerebrospinal fluid polymerase chain reaction
