N2  - This paper focuses on how to design a learner-based writing syllabus using a repertory grid technique. We describe the steps involved within the process of negotiating the syllabus items with the students according to their perceived needs for development as identified through repertory grid data. Finally, we discuss the points to be considered in such a process
