The novel was soon forgotten until 1970, when it was rescued from oblivion and published again along with other novellas and ten short stories in the book La nina y otros relatos (The Girl and Other Stories). In the prologue the author herself explained that all of those works had been written because of certain editorial commitments, and that in particular El viaje divertido was inspired by an anecdote she heard about, and wrote in the form of a novella after a while. The story is basically about a trip that the protagonist, Elisa, makes to Madrid in the company of her sister-in-law, Rosa. This trip ends as a voyage of self discovery that, after some unexpected findings and personal events, will take Elisa to a radical transformation.
}, number={2}, publisher={İstanbul Üniversitesi}
