İnfertilitenedeniyle yaşanan psikososyal sorunlar genellikle kadının gebelik ve annelikrolüyle ilişkilendirilerek kadına atfedilmekte, infertil erkeklerin yaşadığısorunlar gözardı edilmektedir. Bu çalışma infertil erkeklerin infertilite vetedavi sürecindeki deneyimlerini içeren çalışma sonuçlarının değerlendirildiğibir sistematik derlemedir. Dahil etmekriterleri doğrultusunda araştırma kapsamına on altı çalışma alınmıştır. Çalışmalarincelendiğinde, çocuk sahibi olamama nedeniyle infertil erkeklerin kendilerini“daha az erkek”, “yarım erkek” olarak hissetikleri ve damgalanmaya maruzkaldıkları saptanmıştır. İnfertil erkeklerin tedavi sürecine dahiledilmedikleri, yalnız bırakıldıkları belirlenmiştir. Tedavi sürecindemastürbasyonla sperm örneği vermeye ilişkin yeterli bilgi sahibi olmadıkları veutandıkları bulunmuştur. Erkeklerin tedavi sürecinde anksiyete ve depresyonyaşadıkları, eşlerin tedavi almaları nedeniyle kendilerini mahcup ve çaresizhissetikleri belirlenmiştir. Sağlık profesyonelleri ile bu süreçte iletişiminzayıf olduğu belirtilmiştir. Sperm donasyonu ve evlat edinme kararının zorolduğu ve kaygı oluşturduğu saptanmıştır. Tüm bu süreçte infertilite sorununuçevreyleriyle paylaşmak istemedikleri, paylaşırken zorlandıkları dilegetirilmiştir.İnfertil erkeklerin infertilite ve tedavisürecine ilişkin deneyimlerini inceleyen çalışmalar oldukça sınırlıdır. Biryaşam krizi olan infertilitenin yalnızca infertil kadınları değil infertilerkekleri de etkilediği ve bu nedenle erkeklerin deneyimlerini konu alançalışmaların yapılması gerektiği saptanmıştır. İnfertil çiftlerle daha sıkiletişimde olan infertilite hemşirelerinin tedavi sürecinde infertil çiftipsikososyal açıdan beraber değerlendirmesi ve buna ilişkin psikososyal bakımın sağlanması açısındanoldukça önemlidir.
