AB  - The music video is usually a visual text to accompany the new single of a musician, but it is a kind of text can be used to promote that single. This text can also contain traces of political and daily events in the context of its current state. As an example of this situation, Ariana Grande organized a donation concert called‘One Love Manchester’as a result of a terrorist attack she encountered in the Manchester leg of her tour for‘Dangerous Woman’album and released a new album called‘Sweetener’. In this study, the foreground is the music video that Grande made for her single‘no tears left to cry’released one year after the terrorist attack. The clip includes references to the attack itself, how Grande isaffected by the attack and how she reflects it to her music. In this research, the references in the contents of the video were examined by performing semiotic analysis and the research has been made to proof that a music video can be used as a communication tool.

N2  - Müzik klibi genellikle bir müzisyenin yeni teklisine eşlik edecek bir görsel metin olmakla beraber, söz konusu teklinin tanıtımını yapmak adına kullanılan bir metin türüdür. Bu metin aynı zamanda günümüzde gelinen hali ile beraber içeriğinde politik ve gündelik olaylardan izler de taşıyabilir. Söz konusu durumaörnek olarak; Ariana Grande, ‘Dangerous Woman’ albümü için çıktığı turnenin Manchester ayağında karşılaştığı terör saldırıları sonucu ‘One Love Manchester’ isimli bir bağış konseri düzenlemiş ve ‘Sweetener’ adıyla yeni bir albüm piyasaya sürmüştür. Bu araştırmada iseön planda olan konu, terör saldırısından bir sene sonra Grande’nin piyasaya sürdüğü ‘no tears left to cry’ teklisi içinçektiği müzik klibidir. Söz konusu klip içeriğinde saldırının kendisine, Grande’nin saldırıdan nasıl etkilendiğine ve bunu müziğine nasıl yansıttığına dair referansları içerir. Bu araştırmada söz konusu klibin içeriğindeki göndermeler göstergebilimsel çözümlemeler yaparak incelenmiş ve araştırma müzik klibinin bir iletişim aracı olarak kullanılabileceğini ortaya koymak amacıyla yapılmıştır.
