However, a review of the literature didnot reveal any prospective studies that have used videonystagmography(VNG) to examine the vestibular systemof patients with CRS. The goal of this study is the evaluationof the vestibular system of CRS patients. Methods: The study comprised 30 patients with CRS and30 control subjects. The vestibular system was evaluatedthrough VNG. The association with vestibular functionwas evaluated according to the Lund-Mackay score, theSino-Nasal Outcome Test-22 (SNOT-22) score, and the existenceof nasal polyps. Results: Abnormal caloric test results were observed ineight (26.6%) of the 30 CRS patients. The caloric test resultswere normal for the control group. The oculomotortest results with VNG were normal for the CRS and controlgroups. The abnormal caloric results were higher forthe CRS with nasal polyp patients than for the CRS withoutnasal polyp patients. The VNG showed no correlationamong the SNOT-22 scores and the Lund-Mackay scoresin patients with CRS.Conclusion: Abnormal caloric responses can be observedin patients with CRS with nasal polyps.
