KW - Bakteri filogenetiği KW - 16S rRNA genleri KW - Antibiyotik duyarlılık KW - Akdeniz N2 - Phylogenetic diversity and antibioticsusceptibility of isolated bacteria from sediments in shallow and deep regions ofEastern Mediterranean Sea were studied. 153 strains isolated from the studyarea which is one of the most oligotrophic environments in the world were foundas affiliated to the Firmicutes and Gammaproteobacteria. As determined by16S rRNA gene sequence analysis, the Bacillusthe most frequent genus was dominant in each sediment samples. The presentstudy provided highly diverse bacterial strains of ten different familiesespecially with probability of representing new taxa as twelve percent of totalisolates. The highest antibioticresistance was obtained from coastal sediments compared to deep basins. Theinfluence of environmental parameters was observed as the variability ofbacterial community composition such that phylogenetic diversity was muchhigher in higher taxa for shallower regions, especially in North Aegean Sea ascompared to deep basins of Eastern Mediterranean Sea.
