KW - aşil tendon KW - perkütan tamir KW - açık onarım N2 - Acutetear of the Achilles tendonis the most common tendon injuryaround the ankle. There is no consensus on what method is more effectivein thetreatment of Achilles tendon rupture. The aim of th is studyis to compare the functionalresults of two differenttechniques in the treatment of achilles tendon rupture. Between2010 and 2017, 31 patients who had undergoneopen surgery and percutaneous surgery because of achilles rupture wereincluded in the study. In the last examinations of the patients, the range of motion of the ankle, the duration of return to work and sportswere evaluated. Functionalevaluation of patients The American Orthopedic Foot and AnkleAssociation (AOFAS) scoring systemwas used to evaluate the ankle joint. Of the 31 patientsincluded in the study, 29were male and 2 were female. 26 of them were sports injuries, 3 of them after traffic accident, and 2 of them after a simple fall. 18patients underwent open surgical technique (Group 1) and 13 patientsunderwent percutaneous surgical technique (Group 2). There was no statistical difference between thetwo groups according to AOFAS scoringsystem. It was concluded thatthere was no significant difference between theopen surgical technique and the percutaneous surgical technique inthe Achilles tendon tear.
