Kökenini <br />Avusturya Okulu’nun öğretisinden alan ve 20. Yüzyılın son çeyreğinde M.Thatcher ve <br />R.Reagan yönetimleriyle doruk noktasına ulaşan neoliberalizm, doğal muhaliflerinin askeri <br />darbeler tarafından etkisizleştirilmesiyle Türkiye’de kayda değer bir eleştiriyle karşılaşmadı. <br />Akademyanın da sessiz kalmasıyla, neoliberalizm, özellikle etkili bir entelektüel çevrenin <br />toplum üzerinde oluşturduğu baskı sonucunda toplumsal gelişmenin doğal ve nihai sonucu <br />olarak kabul edildi. Bu süreç, dünyadaki neoliberal politikaların değişime uğrayıp çeşitlenmesi <br />karşısında bile devam etti. <br />Anahtar sözcükler: Neoliberalizm, Avusturya Okulu ve Hayek, Margaret Thatcher, <br />Washington Mutabakatı, Türkiye, Turgut Özal, özelleştirme, AKP. </p> <p>  </p> <p>Abstract: <br />Neoliberalism, that found its first practical applications during the Özal regime in Turkey, <br />became dominant in all spheres of social life after the AKP came to power. Based on the <br />teachings of the Austrian School, neoliberalism reached its highest point during the Thatcher <br />and Reagan administrations in the last quarter of the 20th century. In Turkey, it did not meet <br />with any effective opposition mainly because its “natural” opponents had already been silenced <br />by successive military coups. When the academia also succumbed to silence, neoliberalism, <br />especially with the unrelenting pressure on the society by an effective intellectual circle, came <br />to be accepted as the natural and final result of social development.
