N2  - In this article is discussed the marriage traditions in Zangids Dynasties, political purposes of the marriages, the rights of the khatun who become affiliated with this family through marriage and their roles. In middle ages marriage is one of the political elements unifying dynasties. Zangids have used opportunities politically from their marriages. The rights of khatuns has been shaped around the Islamic rules. In addition to this they were partially effective in domestic and foreign policy
