AB  - Orta Doğu ve Kuzey Afrika (MENA)ülkelerinde süregiden siyasi ve iktisadi istikrarsızlık, bölgede yaşayanlarınyeni bir yaşam arayışında olmasına yol açmakta ve bu arayış, göç etme isteğinide arttırmakta. Göç, MENA ülkelerinin tamamında kalıcı etkiler yaratacak birolgu olarak önem arz ediyor. Kimlerin göç etmeyi tercih edeceği, hem geridebıraktıkları ülkelerdeki siyasal değişikliği şekillendirmekte, hem deyerleştikleri yeni ülkelerde sosyal hayata kalıcı etkiler bırakmakta. Buçalışmada, MENA bölgesinde yaşayan ve göç etme eğilimi gösteren bireylerinkararlarını şekillendiren sebepleri araştırdık. Göç etmeyi düşünenler iledüşünmeyenler arasındaki farkları değerlendirdik. Arap Barometresi oluşumunun2016-2017 yılları arasında gerçekleştirdiği anket çalışmalarına dayanan ve 9ülkede 7989 kişinin yanıtları ile toplanan verileri kullanarakgerçekleştirdiğimiz nicel analizde; eğitim düzeyi yüksek, siyasetten ve sosyalkonulardan beklediğini bulamamış bireyleringöç etme eğiliminin dahayüksekolduğunu tespit ettik. Bu sonuçları değerlendirip olası sonuçlarınıtartıştık.

N2  - Politicaland economic instabilities in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) regioninstigate a pursuit of a new life among the populace which boosts the demandfor migration. This is an important phenomenon which will have significantimpacts on the MENA countries as well as the host countries. On the onehand, those who leave will trigger long-term societal and political changes inthe destination countries, and on the other hand, those who stay will shape thefuture of their home countries. This study explores the individual leveldeterminants of decision to emigrate from the MENA region. We investigated thedifferences between individuals who consider emigrating and those who prefer tostay. For this purpose, we used the Arab Barometer Wave IV data which wascollected from 7989 individual respondents in nine countries. Our quantitativeanalysis indicate that those who are better educated, unsatisfied with politicsand social life are more likely to emigrate from the region. We provide adiscussion of these findings and their implications.
