AB  - Einstein’ın özel görelilik kuramının gerektirdiği dört boyutlu uzay anlayışı zamanın akışı, hareket ve değişim gibi olguların birer yanılsamadan ibaret olduğunu göstererek klasik zaman ve nesne anlayışını büyük ölçüde değiştirmiştir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, değişen bu kavramlar çerçevesinde, zihnin ve bilincin dört boyutlu uzay-zamandaki konumunu araştırmaktır. Dört boyutlu evren tasarımının, zihnin zamanda ilerleyen ve değişen bir varlık olduğu inancından ziyade, zihnin tıpkı diğer nesneler gibi anlık uzay-zaman kesitlerinden meydana geldiği iddiasını desteklediği öne sürülecek ve bu iddia irdelenecektir

N2  - The notion of four-dimensional space, entailed by Einstein’s special theory of relativity, has altered the classical understanding of time and object through showing that flow of time, motion and change are illusions. The aim of this paper is to search for the status of mind or consciousness within the framework of these modified concepts. It will be claimed that the notion of four dimensional universe supports the idea that the mind consists of instantaneous space-time slices rather than the belief that it is a being that changes and moves through time
