In this study, the relationship between foreign trade and economic growth for Afghanistan in the period between 1980 and 2017 was examined. For this purpose, cointegration and causality tests were conducted. As a result of Johansen cointegration test, cointegration relationship was determined between the variables. According to the results of the applied Granger causality test to determine the direction and existence of the relationship between variables, a two-way causality relationship was determined from export to economic growth and from economic growth to export. In addition, while there is a one-way causality relationship from imports to economic growth, no causality relationship between imports and exports has been achieved.}, number={1}
