The rubrie in line 22 in- forms us that the preceding incantation and the proceeding ritual are to be recited and performed for Zappu. Line 2.3 commences the ritual with the conventional formulae dû.dû.bi (see W.G.Kuntsmann, Gebets- beschtvörungen, p.64; ef. BRM IV, 32, 4) and States that the follotving ritual is to be performed either in the evening or late afternoon in the countryside, in a descrted place with a gi.duj “reed altar” (11.24-25), the reading of -uhich as patîru is proved by A.Falkenstein in LKU, p.l7 note 6 (cf. aJso AfO 18, p.333, 1.732; MSL 7, p.45, 1.198 a). After the placing of the reed altar, a censer of cypress is offered; then wine, prime becr, another thing, which is illegible, are libated (1.25). İn the follotving line, after a “püre lamb” is sacrificied, the shoulder, the fatty tissue and roast meat are offered.
