Araştırmaya dört farklı hastanenin üç farklı kliniğinden 218 diyabethastası katılmıştır. Veri, hastalara tanıtıcı bilgi formu ve Hastalık Algısı Ölçeği uygulanaraktoplanmıştır. Diyabet hastalarında yaşın, cinsiyetin, medeni durumun, eğitim durumunun,çalışma durumunun, sosyo-ekonomik durumun, diyet durumunun, hastalıklailgili eğitim alma durumunun, psikolojik destek alma durumunun, hastalıkla ilgili bilgisahibi olma durumunun, diyabet tipi ve tanı konma süresinin hastalık algısını etkilediğibelirlenmiştir. Katılımcıların çoğunluğunun, hastalıklarıyla ilgili olduğunu düşündüklerisemptomlar yaşadıkları, hastalıklarını kronik olarak algıladıkları, fiziksel, sosyal, psikolojikişlevlerine hastalığın etkisi olduğunu düşündükleri, tedavilerinin etkin olduğunainandıkları ve hastalıklarından duygusal olarak etkilendikleri saptanmıştır. KW - Diyabet; Hastalık Algısı; Hastalık Belirtisi; Kronik Hastalık N2 - The purpose of the study was to examine the factors influencing illness perception inpatients with diabetes. The participants of the study were 218 diabetes in four differenthospitals in three different clinics. A socio-demographic questionnaire and the IllnessPerception Questionnaire were applied to patients to collect the data. It was found thatthe variables of age, gender, marital status, education level, work status, socio-economic status, dietary status, state of being educated about the illness, psychological support received, state of knowledge about the illness, type of diabetes, and length of time afterdiagnosis have influenced the illness perception in diabetes. It was also determined thatmost of the patients experienced symptoms they thought to be related to their illness, perceivedtheir illness as chronic, thought that their illness affected their physical, social andpsychological functions, believed that their therapies were effective and were affectedemotionally by their illness.
