These discoveries are considered important to countries dependent on abroad in getting their energy, no less important than in the countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea. Treaties that demarcate maritime boundaries prior to the discovery of resources have caused — and still — problems that impose themselves and constitute an impediment to the contribution of energy reserves in the disputed fields to the economies of these countries. This research deals with evaluating Turkey's theses from international maritime laws perspective, knowing that Turkey is the country has the longest coastal strip on the Mediterranean.
