KW - Kardiyopulmoner resüsitasyon KW - Hekimler KW - Uzmanlaşma N2 - Objective: To measure cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) knowledge of physicians in Erzurumby their specialization, specialization period, and status of taking CPR-training.Material and Methods: Physicians, specialist physicians, and physician assistants who serve inErzurum Regional Training and Research Hospital and Atatürk University Research Hospital wereincluded in the study. 15-question, single-answer multiple-choice survey was created under 2015 AHAGuidelines for CPR. Information such as specialty, genders, medical experience (less than 5 years,5-10 years, 10-15 years, more than 15 years), taking CPR-training, and how correctly they answeredthe questions were noted. Under their correct answers, their specializations, status of taking CPRtrainingand medical experience were compared. Results: 251 physicians participated in our study. 66(26.3%) of them were primary care physicians,109(43.4%) of them were physician assistants, and 76(30.3%) of them were specialist physicians. By thenumber of their correct answers, there was no statistically significant difference between primary carephysicians, physician assistants, and specialist physicians. Comparing their medical experience andcorrect answers, number of correct answers of those having more than 15-years medical experiencewas found statistically significantly lower than other groups (more than 15 years-10-15 years p=0.001,more than 15 years-5-10 years p=0.002, more than 15 years-less than 5 years p=0.009). Participants’average number of correct answers was found as 7.71±1.93. Other than emergency medicine andcardiology, none passed 10 correct answers (11.22±1.56, 10±1.26).Conclusion: As a result, training should be given more importance on a vital issue such ascardiopulmonary resuscitation, in cases where professional experience increases, and in specialtieswith less contact with CPR.
