Design Elements For Visitor Centers In Heritage Areas: Gallipoli Historical Area
Abstract
Cultural heritage sites enable opportunities for different types of tourism, and visitor centers introduce these sites to visitors, positively impacting the area’s economic, social, and recreational development by highlighting products and services specific to the region. These centers provide vital information about the site and offer visitors a high-quality experience. Visitor centers are an integral part of the first impression of a site, which stays with the visitor throughout the experience. This study examines the examples of visitor centers implemented in historical sites around the world in terms of sustainability and visitor experience and makes suggestions specifically for those in the Gallipoli Historical Site.
