First record of the genus Afrotrachytes Kontschán (Acari: Uropodina) in Peru with the description of a new species

Abstract

Afrotrachytes peruensis sp. nov. is described based on four females collected from soil in ACP Panguana, Peru. This is the second data of this genus in the Neotropical region. The new species differs from the congener in the ornamentation of female genital shield, the shape of sternal setae and caudal setae on dorsal idiosoma.
