                            <p>This research aimed to scrutinize the critical listening self-efficacy of secondary school students. Variables such as gender, grade level, Turkish course success grade, mother&#039;s education level, father&#039;s education level, number of books read, and daily average listening/watching were discussed by determining critical listening self-efficacy levels of secondary school students. 554 secondary school students from five different secondary schools in the city center of Sakarya participated in the research in the 2021-2022 academic year. For the research results, students&#039; self-efficacy regarding critical listening is moderate. We can say in terms of variables that critical listening self-efficacy in female students is at a higher level compared to male students. There is a significant difference in favor of 7th grade between 5-7th grades and 6-7th grades. Mothers’ and fathers’ educational backgrounds and time that is allocated to listening/7watching by students do not affect critical listening self-efficacy. However, as the number of books that are read increases, critical listening self-efficacy increases at the same time.</p></trans-abstract>
                                                                                                                                    <abstract><p>Araştırmada ortaokul öğrencilerinin eleştirel dinleme özyeterliklerinin incelenmesi amaçlanmaktadır. Çalışmada ortaokul öğrencilerinin eleştirel dinleme özyeterlik düzeyleri tespit edilerek cinsiyet, sınıf düzeyi, Türkçe dersi başarı notu, anne eğitim durumu, baba eğitim durumu, okunan kitap sayısı, günlük ortalama dinleme/izlemeye ayrılan süre değişkenleri ele alınmıştır. Araştırmaya 2021-2022 öğretim yılında Sakarya ili merkezinde yer alan 5 farklı ortaokuldan 554 öğrenci katılmıştır. Araştırmada betimsel tarama yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre, öğrencilerin eleştirel dinlemeye ilişkin özyeterlikleri orta düzeydedir. Değişkenler açısından incelendiğinde kız öğrencilerin eleştirel dinleme özyeterliklerinin daha yüksek olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Sınıf düzeyi açısından 5-7. sınıflar ile 6-7. sınıflar arasında 7. sınıflar lehine anlamlı farklılık tespit edilmiştir. Annenin eğitim durumu, babanın eğitim durumu, öğrencilerin bir günde dinleme/izlemeye ayırdıkları süre eleştirel dinleme özyeterliklerini etkilememektedir. Ancak okunan kitap sayısı arttıkça eleştirel dinleme özyeterliğinin de arttığı tespit edilmiştir.</p></abstract>
