<p>The aim of the research is to determine the effect of thecreative drama method on the reading motivation and attitudes of the 4th gradestudents. The research was carried outwith 16 4th grade students. In the research, using the creativedrama method, a total of 30 class hours of reading practice was given in theTurkish course. In the study, the &quot;single group pre-test post-testexperimental design&quot; was used. Quantitative research techniques were used in the collection, analysis, andinterpretation of the data. For data collection, the &quot;Reading Motivation Profile Scale&quot; (Yıldız,2013) and the &quot;Reading Attitude Scale&quot; (Susar Kırmızı, 2008) wereused to determine the motivation and attitudes of the students towards reading. The scales were used as the pre-test at the beginning of the research and as thepost-test at the end. For data analysis, the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test wasused. The results showed that the creative drama method affected the readingmotivation of the students positively, but it did not affect their attitudestowards reading. In the light of the results obtained in the research, suggestionswere made for the improvement of the process of reading instruction in elementaryschool.</p></trans-abstract>
