Although MehmetRauf wrote other novels and stories and published a magazine besides Eylül, hebecame famous via the novel “Eylül.” In Eylül, Mehmet Rauf tells the story of aforbidden love that develops in a constricted environment, through one season, islived without any sexual affair, and the price for which is paid with death. Inthis article, the place of “Eylül” in Turkish literature will be discussed, and,afterwards, the environment and other elements that lead to the inception ofthe forbidden love that form the plot will be focused on.
