The purpose of this researchis to capture the opinions of second grade elementary school students onprocess-based writing approach activities. This study in which 20 second gradestudents participated is a qualitative one. The data of the study werecollected through semi-structured interviews, and the analysis of the data wasconducted with content analysis. The results showed that, based on its communicationdimension, the process writing approach helped the students to produce better writtenproducts, to develop positive attitudes towards writing and to feel better aboutthemselves as writers. On the negative side, the students stated that theprocess of writing lasted a very long time, that they did not want to find theirfriends' mistakes during the editing stage, and that they were embarrassedwhile reading the manuscripts they had written to their friends.
</trans-abstract>
