Punctuation marks have been used in Turkish in the historical process. In this study, information about the historical process of punctuation in Turkish was also mentioned. The use of punctuation marks, which are not considered as the subject of Turkish grammar and Turkish spelling tradition for a long period, is extremely important in terms of teaching Turkish. In this study, the punctuation marks in terms of reading and writing skills in Turkish teaching were mentioned considering the researches. Even today, there are problems with the use of punctuation marks in our written language. In this article, the functions of punctuation marks are tried to be determined by considering the written language. The relationship between the punctuation mark and espicially syntax is emphasized. Commas and semicolons are the factors that can play an important role to gain sorting and classification skills in education. In this study, firstly, it is determined that what is in the texbooks about punctuation marks, and then secondary school textbooks were examined in relation to the use of commas and semicolons. The handling of these signs and their evaluation among the activities were investigated. It has been stated that commas and semicolons should be cascaded in the textbooks regarding the sorting and classification skills, and in this sense, grammatical suggestions are presented.
Tarihî süreçte noktalama işaretleri Türkçede kullanılagelmiştir. Çalışmada Türkçede noktalamanın tarihî süreciyle ilgili bilgilere de değinilmiştir. Türk dil bilgisinde ve Türk yazım geleneğinde uzun bir dönem dil bilgisinin konusu olarak ele alınmayan noktalama işaretlerinin kullanımı Türkçe öğretimi açısından son derce önemlidir. Çalışmada, Türkçe öğretiminde okuma, yazma becerileri açısından noktalama işaretlerine araştırmalar göz önünde bulundurularak değinilmiştir. Bugün dahi yazı dilimizde noktalama işaretlerinin kullanımıyla ilgili sorunlar yaşanmaktadır. Yazıda, noktalama işaretlerinin işlevleri yazı dili çerçevesindetespit edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Noktalama işaretlerinin özellikle söz dizimiyle ilişkisi vurgulanmıştır. Virgül ve noktalı virgül, eğitimde sıralama ve sınıflandırma becerilerini kazandırmada önemli rol oynayabilecek unsurlardandır. Araştırmada, öncelikle ders kitaplarında noktalama işaretlerinin neler olduğu tespit edilmiştir daha sonra virgül ve noktalı virgülün kullanımıyla ilgili olarak ilkokul ve ortaokul ders kitapları incelenmiştir. Bu işaretlerin ele alınışları, etkinlikler içinde değerlendirilişleri araştırılmıştır. Virgül ve noktalı virgülün sıralama ve sınıflandırma becerilerine ilişkin ders kitaplarında basamaklandırılarak verilmesi gerektiği ifade edilmiş ve bu anlamda dil bilgisel öneriler sunulmuştur.
