Naming a child, a commonplace act performed by parents in the ordinary course of life, is not simply a label. Beyond the function of distinguishing one person from another, names also contain profound meanings such as cultural continuity, class belonging, power, hegemony, and ideology. Onomastics, a subfield of linguistics, studies the origins and meanings of names. Socio-onomastics, in turn, is a discipline that analyzes the direct and implicit meanings of names within social contexts. This study evaluates the reflection of cultural and social transformations that occurred in Türkiye between 1950 and 2022 through a socio-onomastic perspective, focusing on names. In this sense, the naming patterns of families in Türkiye are a vivid indicator and summary of the nation&#039;s orientations towards modernity, conservatism, and social belonging.</p>
