                                                                                                <abstract><p>Bu çalışma, ağız ve diş sağlığı merkezine başvuran bireylerin sağlık okuryazarlığı düzeylerini incelemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Araştırma, tanımlayıcı ve kesitsel bir tasarıma sahiptir. Veri toplama sürecinde demografik özellikleri içeren bir anket formu ve sağlık okuryazarlığı düzeyini belirlemeye yönelik geçerliği ve güvenirliği sağlanmış Sağlık Okuryazarlığı Ölçeği (SOY-TR) kullanılmıştır. Çalışmaya katılan bireylerin büyük çoğunluğunun düşük ve yetersiz sağlık okuryazarlığı düzeyine sahip olduğu belirlenmiştir. Eğitim düzeyi, yaş ve cinsiyet gibi sosyo-demografik değişkenlerle sağlık okuryazarlığı düzeyi arasında anlamlı ilişkiler tespit edilmiştir. Elde edilen bulgular doğrultusunda, bireylerin ağız ve diş sağlığına yönelik hizmetlere erişiminde sağlık okuryazarlığı düzeyinin belirleyici bir rol oynadığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Sağlık hizmetlerinin etkinliği ve bireylerin ağız-diş sağlığına ilişkin tutum ve davranışlarının geliştirilmesi açısından sağlık okuryazarlığının artırılması gerektiği önerilmektedir.</p></abstract>
