Fatty Acid Composition of Neutral Lipid, Phospholipid and Total Lipid of Freshwater Mussel (Unio elongatulus Bourguignat, 1860) Collected from Tigris River

Öz

In this study, fatty acid levels of total lipid, phospholipid and neutral lipid of the flesh from freshwater mussel (Unio elongatulus) collected from Tigris River in Diyarbakır in June 2007, were investigated. Whole body lipids of the mussel were fractionated by thin layer chromatography. The fatty acids of total lipid, phospholipid and neutral lipid fractions were analyzed by capillary gas chromatography (GC) and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). In the analyses, C12:0, C14:0, C15:0, C16:0, C18:0 saturated fatty acids (SFA); C16:1n-7, C18:1n-9, C20:1n-9 monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFA) and C18:2n-6, C18:3n-3, C20:2n-6, C20:4n-6, C20:5n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (n-3 and n-6 PUFA) were detected. In the percentages, C18:1n-9 (10.23%-45.10%), C16:0 (18.23%-24.86%) and C18:2n-6 (3.50%-16.94%) fatty acids were detected as the most abundant components. The percentages of C20:4n-6 (10.62%) and C20:5n-3 (10.09%) fatty acids, precursors of eicosanoids, were found high in the phospholipid fraction. Total level of polyunsaturated fatty acids n-3 and n-6 PUFA (43.86%) was found at high percentage in the phospholipid and total monounsaturated fatty acids level (%61.39) was found at high Phospholipidpercentage in the neutral lipid.

Dicle Nehri’nden Toplanan Tatlısu Midyesi (Unio elongatulus Bourguignat, 1860)’nin Nötral Lipit, Fosfolipit ve Toplam Lipit Yağ Asidi Kompozisyonu

Öz

Bu çalışmada, Diyarbakır Dicle Nehri’nden Haziran 2007 tarihinde toplanan tatlısu midyesi (Unio elongatulus)’nin etindeki fosfolipit, nötral lipit ve toplam lipitlerinin yağ asidi düzeyleri araştırıldı. Midyenin toplam vücut lipitleri ince tabaka kromatografi ile ayrıştırıldı. Toplam lipit, fosfolipit ve nötral lipitte bulunan yağ asitleri gaz kromatografi (GC) ve gaz kromatografi-kütle spektrometre (GC-MS) ile analizlendi. Analizlerde, doymuş yağ asitlerinden (DYA) C12:0, C14:0, C15:0, C16:0, C18:0; tekli doymamış yağ asitlerinden (MUFA) C16:1n-7, C18:1n-9, C20:1n-9; çok doymamış yağ asitlerinden (n-3 ve n-6 PUFA) C18:2n-6, C18:3n-3, C20:2n-6, C20:4n-6 ve C20:5n-3 gibi yağ asitleri saptandı. Yüzde dağılımda en çok C16:0 (%18.23-%24.86), C18:1n-9 (%10.23%45.10) ve C18:2n-6 (%3.50-%16.94) yağ asitleri tespit edildi. Eikosanoidlerin öncül maddesi olan C20:4n-6 (%10.62) ve C20:5n-3 (%10.09) yağ asitlerinin yüzde oranları fosfolipitte önemli derecede yüksek düzeyde saptandı. Toplam çok doymamış n-3 ve n-6 PUFA oranı (%43.86) fosfolipitte; toplam tekli doymamış yağ asidi oranı (%61.39) ise nötral lipitte yüksek düzeyde tespit edildi
