Suheyl Ünver is a personality devoted his life torevelation and preservation of our culture and civilization. Therefore, henoted down whatever he saw and heard while exploring Anatolian territory. Hecompiled books from these notes which were taken about the cities that hadhistorical background. With his diligence and determination, the number ofbooks reached to the thousands. One of these belonged to Amasya. In this study,Suheyl Ünver’s notes in Amasya notebooks which were mostly written in OttomanHandwriting translated into modern Turkish. In addition, required foot noteswere given if necessary.
A. SüheylÜnver, kendisini kültür ve medeniyetimizin keşfine ve korunmasına adamış birşahsiyettir. Bu amaçla tüm Anadolu coğrafyasını dolaşmış, gördüğü ve dinlediğihemen her şeyi not almıştır. Özellikle tarihi birikime sahip şehirlerle ilgilituttuğu bu notları, müstakil defterler haline getirmiştir. Çalışkanlığı veyılmak bilmeyen azmiyle bu defterlerin sayısı binleri bulmuştur. Bunlardanbirisi de Amasya’ya aittir. Bu çalışmada, Süheyl Ünver’in çoğunluğunu Osmanlıcael yazısı ile kaleme aldığı Amasya Defterindeki notlar, günümüz Türkçesineaktarılmıştır. Ayrıca gerekli görülen yerlerde tarafımızca notlandırmalar da yapılmıştır.
