An organization's culture can have a dramatic effect on the personal and work lives of its employees. Work related stress, platr, auing and chemical dependency problems are major employee problems that may be succesfully addressed through organizational programs. The culture of an organization can often be enhanced through policy changes or progranıs that increase thc attractiveness of the work place. Empowering employees in their jobs has been viewed by many to be a key to creating a positive, productive culture. Enıployees also value a culture that has progressive family/work policies such as: child and eldercare, family leave, flexible hours and relocation. Wellness programs can help reduce employee stress, prevent health problems and provide early detection of serious health concerns. This paper examines the effect of these programs upon the workers attitudes and also what managers think about the acceptance of these programs by the employces. This paper also reveals the managerial view of how culture can be maintained and developed by the application of these programs.
