Aim: In ourhospital, assess the results of the literature of patients undergoing open andlaparoscopic incisional hernia repair due.Materials andMethods:The resultsof 250 patients who were randomized for incisional hernia between 2012 and 2016were reviewed. Patients were divided into laparoscopic group (n: 122) and opengroup (n: 128). Demographic characteristics were analyzed statistically interms of operation time, hospitalization time, postoperative early-latecomplications and recurrence.Results:The mean ageof the patients we operated with open hernia method was higher. There was nostatistically significant difference between open and closed technique in termsof perioperative characteristics and post operative complications.Conclusion:Laparoscopic incisional hernia repair can be applied as safe as open techniquein appropriate patients. We still believe that prospective controlled studieswith large patient groups are still needed to standardize for appropriate technique.
</trans-abstract>
