This study is an analysis of the work entitled “National Myths in Greece” written by Herkül Millas. This work deals with Greek national myths. Myths are social beliefs, opinions, explanations, theories, and stories that a group believes to be true. It is intended for anyone who wishes to better understand the role of myths in the recognition of the Greeks and other nations. The author's conclusion is that myths are an integral part of society. The study examines the role of myths in the formation of national histories, social integration, and political unity. According to the author, the myths that are believed and rejected within a nation reveal how people think and what different segments of society believe in.
</trans-abstract>
