Son yıllarda, bütündünyada etik değerlerden uzaklaşıldığı ve dünyanın büyük çoğunluğunda ahlakiyozlaşmanın yaşandığı yapılan bilimsel çalışmalarla ortaya konmuştur. Özellikleokullarda öğrenciler arasında şiddet olaylarının arttığı, cinsel tacizlerinyaşandığı, argo ve küfürlü konuşmaların olduğu, kopya çekme davranışlarına çoksık rastlandığı ve öğretmenlere olan saygının azaldığı tespit edilmiştir. Buaraştırmanın amacı, öğretmenlere göre; toplumda öğretmene olan saygı düzeyininazalmasının nedenleri, etkileri ve sonuçlarınınneler olduğunu, öğretmene olansaygı düzeyini artırmak için neler yapılması gerektiğini tespit etmektir. Araştırmada, nitel araştırma desenlerinden gözlemsel durum çalışması deseni kullanılmıştır.Bulgular, yapılandırılmamış sorulardanoluşan görüşme formu ile elde edilmiştir.Verilerin çözümlenmesinde ise betimsel analiz tekniği kullanılmıştır. Beş farklı ilköğretim kurumunda görev yapan ve seçkisiz örnekleme yoluyla seçilen 65 öğretmenle görüşme yapılmıştır.Araştırmanın sonucunda, son yıllardatoplumda öğretmene olan saygı düzeyininazaldığı tespit edilmiştir. Öğretmene olan saygı düzeyinin azalması; yasa ve yönetmelikler, aileler, siyasetçiler,okul yönetimi, öğretmenler, teknolojinin gelişmesi, toplumun değer yargılarınındeğişmesi gibi etkenlerden kaynaklanmaktadır. Öğretmene olan saygı düzeyinin azalması;eğitim-öğretim ortamlarında işi yürüten bireyler olarak öğretmenlerin motivasyonununazalmasına, verimliliğinin düşmesine, öğrencilerin yeterli ve gerekli eğitimi alamadan mezunolmalarına yol açmaktadır. Araştırmada öğretmene olan saygı düzeyininartırılması; öğretmenlerinmotivasyonunun ve verimliliğinin artmasını, öğrencilere daha kaliteli veyeterli eğitim verilmesini sağlayacağı vurgulanmıştır. Öğretmeneolan saygı düzeyinin artırılması içinMilli Eğitimle ilgili kanun veyönetmeliklerde değişiklik yapılması, okullarda aile eğitimi verilmesi,toplumun öğretmene saygı konusunda bilinçlendirilmesi, öğretmenin ekonomikdüzeyinin artırılması, siyasetçilerin beyanatlarında öğretmenleri küçümseyiciifadeler kullanmaması, öğretmenlerin kendilerini yenilemeleri gibi önerilersunulmuştur.
Inrecent years, it has been revealed through scientific studies that ethicalvalues have been removed from all over the world and moral corruption has beenexperienced in the vast majority of the world. Especially in the schools it hasbeen found that among the students, violence has increased, sexual harassmenthas been experienced, slang and abusive speech, copying behaviors areencountered very often and teachers' respect has decreased. The aim of thisresearch, according to the teachers; The reasons for the reduction of the levelof respect for the teacher in the society, what are the consequences andconsequences of what is done, and what needs to be done to increase the levelof respect for the teacher. In the study,holistic (single unit of analysis) design of case study designs was used. Findings wereobtained by interview form consisting of unstructured questions. In theanalysis of the data, a descriptive analysis technique was used. There were interviewswith 65 teachers who worked in five secondary school. As a result of theresearch, it has been determined that the level of respect for the teacher insociety has decreased in recent years. Decrease in the level of teacher respect; Laws and regulations, families, politicians, school management, teachers, thedevelopment of technology, and changes in the value judgement of the society.Decrease in the level of teacher respect; As individuals carrying out work ineducational atmosphere, it leads to a decrease in the motivation of theteachers, a decrease in productivity, and a graduation of the students withoutadequate and necessary education. In this research, increasing the level ofrespect fort he teacher; It was emphasized that motivation and productivity ofthe teachers would be increased and that the students would be provided withbetter and more qualified education. In order to increase the level of respectfor the teacher, it is offered a suggestions such as making amendments to lawsand regulations related to National Education, providing family education inschools, raising awareness of the society on teacher education, increasing theeconomic level of the teacher, not using contemptuous expressions of teachersin politicians' statements, and suggestions of teachers themselves are renewed.
