Sonirrigasyon solüsyonları; %17 EDTA, %1 Fitik asit, %0.5 Fitik asit, %5 NaOCl vedistile sudur. Kökler elmas diskler kullanılarak longi- tudinal olarak ikiyeayrıldı. Son irrigasyon prosedürleri uygulanmadan önce her örneğin koronal, orta ve api- kal üçlü seviyelerinden başlangıç mikrosertlik değerleri ölçüldü.Son yıkama prosedürleri uygulanıp, yeniden ölçümler yapıldı. İstatistikseldeğerlendirme tek yönlü varyans analizi (ANOVA) ve Post-hoc Tukey HSD ileyapıldı.Bulgular: Koronal ve orta üçlü seviyesindegruplar arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir farklılık izlen- mezken(p&amp;gt;0.05), apikal üçlü seviyesinde %1 Fitik asit grubu istatistiksel olarakanlamlı düzeyde dentin mikrosertliğinde azalmaya neden olmuştur (p&amp;lt;0.05).Kökün tüm seviyelerinde, %0.5 Fitik asit solüsyonu, diğer gruplarlakarşılaştırıldığında anlamlı farklılığa neden olmamıştır (p&amp;gt;0.05). NaOCl vedistile su grubu tüm seviyelerde diğer gruplardan farklı bulunmuştur (p&amp;lt;0.05).Her iki grup da dentin mikrosertliğinde azalmaya neden olmamıştır.Sonuç: Koronal ve orta üçlü seviyesinde gruplar arasında herhangi bir farklılıkgözlenmezken, %1 Fitik asit solüsyonu apikal üçlü seviyesinde dentinmikrosertliğinde azalmaya neden olmuştur. * Gazi Üniversitesi Diş Hekimliği Fakültesi, Endodonti Anabilim Dalı, Ankara &amp;nbsp; AnahtarKelimeler: Fitik asit, etilendiamintetraasetik asit,şelatör ajanlaEFFECT OF DIFFERENT CONCENTRATIONS OF PHYTIC ACID SOLUTIONS ON ROOTCANAL DENTINE MICROHARDNESSAim: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of differentconcentrations of phytic acid solution on root canal dentine microhardness.Material andMethods: 75 single rooted mandibular premolar teeth with aclosed apex were used for this study. Teeth with an average length of 18- 20 mmwere used. Coronal access cavities were prepared under water cooling, using around bur. #15 K-file was used for the determination of working length. Rootcanals were instrumented up to size F3 by using Protaper Universal files. Teethwere then randomly divided into five groups; 17% EDTA, 1% phytic acid, 0.5%phytic acid, 5% NaOCl and distilled water. Roots were divided longitudinallyinto two parts by using diamond discs. Initial microhardness measurements atall three levels were recorded for each sample. Final measurements followingfinal irrigation protocols were then recorded and the percentage reduction in microhardnesscalculated. One-way variance analysis (ANOVA) and Post-hoc Tukey HSD were usedfor statistical analysis. Results: There were no statistically significant results between the groups atthe coronal and middle third of the root canal (p&amp;gt;0.05). However, at theapical third, 1% phytic acid group caused a significant decrease inmicrohardness (p&amp;lt;0.05). Reduction in microhardness caused by 0.5% phyticacid solution was not significant (p&amp;gt;0.05). Results from NaOCl and distilledwater groups were statistically significant (p&amp;lt;0.05). Conclusion: While there was no significant reduction in microhardness at thecoronal and middle third, 1% phytic acid solution caused a significantreduction in microhardness at the apical third. Keywords: Phytic acid, ethylenediaminetetraasetic acid, chelating agents</p>
