A Short Review About Working Memory

Abstract

The working memory system is responsible for the protection of limited information that can be kept in mind at once. Discussions on the existence of different circuits for different working memory, the limit of working memory and its developability are ongoing. Cognitive tests addressing working memory remain a current and reliable source for assessing cognitive abilities. In this review, we aimed to understand the working memory, which is an important concept of cognitive physiology, in the light of current information. In this context, the anatomy, capacity, individual differences and developability of the working memory are discussed.

Çalışma Belleği Hakkında Kısa Bir Gözden Geçirme

Abstract

Çalışma belleği sistemi, bir kerede akılda tutulabilen sınırlı bilgilerin korunmasından sorumludur. Farklı çalışma belleği için farklı devrelerin varlığı, çalışma belleğinin sınırı ve geliştirilebilirliği hakkında tartışmalar sürmektedir. Çalışma belleğini ele alan testler, bilişsel yeteneklerin değerlendirilmesinde güncel ve güvenilir bir kaynak olmayı sürdürmektedir. Bu derlemede, bilişsel fizyolojinin önemli bir kavramı olan çalışma belleğinin, güncel bilgiler ışığında ana hatlarıyla anlaşılması amaçlanmıştır. Bu kapsamda çalışma belleğinin anatomisi, kapasitesi, bireysel farklılıkları ve geliştirilebilirliği ele alınmıştır
