“Probleme Dayalı Öğrenme Müfredatının Uygulandığı Tıp Öğrencilerinde Stres Olușturucu Faktörler Ölçeği”nin Türkçe Çevirisinin Psikometrik Özelliklerinin Araștırılması

Abstract

Objectives: The aim of this study was to adapt the “Potential Stressor Factors of Medical Students in a Problembased Learning Medical Curriculum Scale” to Turkish medical students and to assess its psychometric properties. Materials and Methods: After translating into Turkish, the scale and socio-demographic information form were administered to 632 medical school students from the first to third years training with problem based curricula. After evaluating internal construct validity of the scale with confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), reliability was assessed by Cronbach’s alpha coefficient. In the second stage, factor scores were compared for selected socio-demographic characteristics. Results: The two-dimensional structure of the scale was confirmed by CFA with Cronbach’s alpha coefficients. For “Medical training” factor, while the stress perception levels of third year students, females, psychological support takers and students whose parents were illiterate were higher, those of students living with their family or accommodating at home were lower. Also, psychological support takers and students whose parents were illiterate had higher stress perception levels for Personal issues factor. Conclusion: Turkish translation of “Potential Stressor Factors of Medical Students in a Problem-based Learning Medical Curriculum Scale”, can be used on Turkish medical students training with PBL curricula in order to assess stress perception levels related to medical training and personal issues.

Assessing the Psychometric Properties and Turkish Translation of the “Potential Stressor Factors of Medical Students in a Problem-Based Learning Medical Curriculum Scale”

Abstract

Amaç: Bu çalıșmanın amacı, “Probleme Dayalı Öğrenme (PDÖ) Müfredatının Uygulandığı Tıp Öğrencilerinde Stres Olușturucu Faktörler Ölçeği”nin Türkçeye çevirisinin yapılması ve psikometrik özelliklerinin araștırılmasıdır. Gereç ve yöntem: Ölçeğin Türkçe çevirisi ve “Sosyodemografik Bilgi Formu”, entegre sistemle eğitim gören toplam 632 Dönem 1-3 öğrencisine uygulanmıștır. Ölçeğin içsel yapı geçerliliği doğrulayıcı faktör analizi (DFA), güvenilirliği de Cronbach alfa katsayısı ile değerlendirilmiștir. İkinci așamada faktör skorları, seçilen sosyodemografik özellikler açısından karșılaștırılmıștır. Bulgular: DFA sonucunda, ölçeğin “Tıp Öğretimi” ve “Kișisel Konular” olarak isimlendirilen mevcut iki faktörlü yapısı doğrulanmıștır. Cronbach alfa değerleri, “Tıp Öğretimi” faktörü için 0,80, “Kișisel Konular” faktörü için 0,78 olarak bulunmuștur. “Tıp Öğretimi” açısından, dönem-3 öğrencilerinin, kız öğrencilerin, psikososyal destek alanların ve ebeveynleri okuryazar olmayanların stres algı düzeyleri daha yüksek; aile evi / tek evde yașayanlarınki daha düșük olup; bu farklılıklar istatistiksel olarak da anlamlı bulunmuștur. “Kișisel Konular” faktörü için aynı özellikler değerlendirildiğinde, psikososyal destek alanların ve ebeveynleri okuryazar olmayanların stres algı düzeylerinin istatistiksel olarak anlamlı derecede yüksek olduğu belirlenmiștir. Sonuç: Türkçe çevirisinin psikometrik özellikleri gösterilen “PDÖ Müfredatının Uygulandığı Tıp Öğrencilerinde Stres Olușturucu Faktörler Ölçeği”, Türkiye'de PDÖ müfredatının uygulandığı tıp fakültesi öğrencilerinin tıp öğretimi ve kișisel konularla ilgili stres algı düzeylerini belirlemede kullanılabilir.
