Abstract
The postoperative morbidtiy and mortality of elective peptic ulcer surgery was evaluated in a series of 394 duodenal and gastric ulcer patients. Total mortality was 0.5 % and complication rate was 8.1 % , however serious complications which resulted with reoperation was seen in only 1.8 % of patients. High age and concomitant systemic diseases was found to be the most important risk factorsin these patients.

Abstract
Çesit1i cerrahi yöntemlerle tedavi edilen 394 peptik ülserli hastada erken morbidit'e ve mortalite incelendi. Total mortalite % 0.5, erken postoperatif komplikasyon oram % 8.1 ve reoperasyon gerektiren komplikasyon oram ise % 1.8 olarak bulundu. Bu tür hastalarda en ciddi problemi ileri yas ve kardiovasküler sistemle ilgili yandas hastallklarm olusturdugu gözlenmistir
