The effect of proximal gastric vagotomy (PGV) on absorption of vitamin By (Vit. By) has been investigated in 10 cases which have been performed on PGV due to chronic duodenal! ulcer. In the result of comparing Co” - Vit. Br absorption tests which have been done before and three mounths after PGV, a decrease in Co™ - labeld vit. B:: serum levels, urinary end fecal excretions have beenobserved in the rate of % 39.2, % 66.4 and % 61.46 respectively. This decrease is probably due to the diminished production of intrinsic factor and the decreased peptic activity after PGV. The decreasing effect of PGV on absorption of vit. Br has no clinic importance, because of the vit. Br depot in the body.

Proksimal gastrik vagotominin (PGV) vitamin By (Vit. PGV’nin Vit. Be emilimi uzerindeki bu azaltici etkisinin, organizmadaki Vit. By, deposuda dikkate alinirsa klinik 6nemi bulunmamaktadir.
