The pancreolauryl test is an oral pancreatic functional test. Fluorescein dilaurate taken by orally is broken into the lauryc acid and the fluorescein by the aryl esteraz. Fluorescein absorbed by the small bowel is conjugated in the liver and is exdreated by the kidney.
We studied the pancreolauryl test in two different groups. There were 9 patients Who have chronic pancreatitis in the first one. There were 12 patients Who have no any pancreatic disorders, but the other gastrointestinal tractus diseases in the control group.
We found the results of the pancreolauryl test as following : The sencitviity rate 6 33,3 the specilicity rate Yo 83, the false positive rate 95 16, the false negative rate 66,6, the negative predictivity rate Va 62,5, the positive predictivity rate 9b 62,5, the positive predictivity rate 9 43. We believe that the pancreolauryl test for the diagnosis of the
chronic pancreatitis is not reliable test.
