Correlation of Carotid Intima Media Thickness and Aortic Stiffness Index With Androgenetic Alopecia

Year 2015, Volume: 68 Issue: 1, 9 - 14, 10.08.2015

Abstract

Androgenetic alopecia (AGA) is a common health problem that causes hair loss in both men and women due to the effect of androgens in the presence of genetic predisposition. Recent studies have shown that AGA patients are associated with an increased risk of coronary artery disease. Aortic stiffness index (ASI) and carotid intima-media thickness (CIMT) are considered strong markers for the presence of atherosclerosis. The aim of this study was to determine the possible relationship between ASI and CIMT in the presence of AGA.

Correlation of Carotid Intima Media Thickness and Aortic Stiffness Index With Androgenetic Alopecia

Year 2015, Volume: 68 Issue: 1, 9 - 14, 10.08.2015
