A. Ü. T. Fakültesi Gastroenteroloji kliniğine 1964 - 1978 yılları arasında yatan 13,859 hastanın 10 u Budd-Chiari sendromu tanısı almıştır (% 0,07). 10 olgunun 5 i kadın, 5 i erkek ve yaş ortalaması 28 dir. Olgularımızda semptomlarm başlaması ile tanı konuncaya kadar geçen süre 64 ay olarak bulundu. Ol363 gulanmmn bize vurduklarrnda yaklnmlarr, halsizlik ( % 20), karm liži ( % 90), alt ekstremitelerde ödem ( % 60), ( % 30), karm aEr1S1 ( % 30), palpitasyon ( % 10), dyspne ( % 10) idi. Olgulanmmn % 90 mnda hepatomegali, % 80 ninde splenomegali, % 80 ninde asit, % 100 tinde kollateral venöz dolapm, % 60 Inda alt ekstremitelerde ödem, % 10 unda sarlllk, % 10 nunda hemorajik plevral epanynan mevcut idi. Olgularlmrzan % 80 ninde vena cava inferiorda trombusa bažll oldužunu dihündüEümüz obstruksiyon saptandl. Olgulanrmzrn birinde semptomlar gebeližin 6 Incr aymda, bir diEerinde puerperyumda ortaya Olgulanmmn birinde polisitemi ve lökositoz vardl. Yedi olguda ise sorumlu tutulabilecek etyolojik faktör tesbit edemedik.
10 Patients, out of 13,859 patients who were admitted to the Gastroenterology Departement of Faculty of Medicine, University of Ankara, from 1964 - through 1978, were diagnosed to have Budd-Chiari Syndrome.Five of the patients were male and the other 5 were female and the avarage age was 28 years. In our subjects, the time between the start of symptoms and the diagnosis was found to be 64 months. When the subjects were admitted to the hospital they complained of tiredness (20 70), abdominal pain (30 70), fever (30 70), edema in lower extremities (60 70), palpitation (10 0/0), dyspnea (10 0/0), abdominal distension (90 70).
In 90 % of our subjects hepatomegaly, in 80 % splenomegaly, in 80 % ascites, in 100 % collateral venous circulation, in 60 % edema in lower extremites, in 10 % jaundice and in 10 % hemorrhagic pleural effusion were observed. In 80 % of our subjects, obstruction of vena cava inferior, which were tought to be due to trombosis, was found. The symptoms occured in the sixth month of the pregnancy in one case and in another case in puerperium. In another subject polycythemi and leukocytosis were present. In 7 cases the etiology was either unknown or inadequately established.
