<p>This study aims to examine teachers’ views on children’s social-emotional development during the transition from preschool to primary school. Designed as a qualitative research with a descriptive phenomenological approach, the study was conducted with 36 participants, including 18 preschool teachers and 18 primary school teachers working in Canakkale Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and analyzed using content analysis methods. Findings revealed that social-emotional skills directly influence children’s school readiness and active participation in learning. Skills such as self-expression, forming friendships, rule compliance, emotion regulation, and problem-solving were identified as critical competencies by both preschool and primary school teachers. In contrast, issues such as aggression, difficulty in anger control, communication problems, technology dependency, and excessive attachment to parents emerged as risk factors negatively affecting school adjustment and academic achievement. Teachers reported adopting holistic strategies such as play-based activities, creative drama, emotion cards, family involvement, and orientation programs. The results highlight that social-emotional development not only supports individual growth but also enhances classroom quality, teaching effectiveness, and overall school experience.</p></trans-abstract>
