Öz

Nitel bir araştırma yaklaşımı olan belgesel yöntemin merkezinde toplumsal pratiklerin anlamlarının ortaya çıkarılması yer almaktadır. Hayatın gerçekliği, insanların ona yüklediği anlama indirgenemez, daha ziyade pratik deneyimlerin içine gömülüdür. Bu makale, belgesel yöntemin teorik temellerini özellikle toplumsal pratik kavramı üzerinden ele almakta, pratiği yorumlamak için bu yöntemin nasıl kullanıldığını göstermekte ve farklı veri toplama biçimlerinin belgesel yönteme nasıl eklemlendiğini incelemektedir. Son olarak, yöntemin nasıl uygulandığı iki araştırma örneğinde somutlanmaktadır.

Researching Educational Practices with the Documentary Method

Öz

Documentary method is a qualitative research approach. At the center of this approach is the investigation of social practice. This is because the reality of life cannot be reduced to the meaning that people attribute to it; rather, this meaning is embedded in practical experiences. This paper highlights the theoretical foundations of the documentary method, in particular the concept of social practice, shows how it is used to interpret practice, and examines how different forms of data are interpreted by the documentary method. Finally, two research examples concretize the practice of the documentary method.
