The color magnitude diagram of the stars in the Scutum cloud is considered. Proof is given that a conspicuous giant series is present.
At the same time youn^ stars are present. Internal motions must be present resulting in a mizture of stars of different ages. The stars in the Scutum cloud do not represent a homogeneous group but are a heterogeneous mizture.
