Chemical durability of some selected lead silicate glasses were investigated using hydrochloric add and sodium hydroxide as the attacking solutions. Different factors were studied such as the glass composition, concentration of the attacking solution and conditions of the immersion process.
The experimental results obtained expressed in terms of the weight loss may be mainly attributed to the change of the corrosion rate with the change in the strength of the attacking solution.
