3-Nitro-4-acetylsulphanilylhydrazide (I) was syntheesized, and the unsubstituted nitrogen of the hydrazine moiety was incorporated in reactions with several aldehydes and ketones, 1,2 or 1,3 diketones, oc -oxoacids, a -keyoacids, and certain acyl or sulphonyl chloride compounds to give different sulphydrazones that were excepted to show high antitubercular activity.
