Formation and growth mechanism of Cu2O films in 1 N NaOH solution were investigated. Two different Cu2O films were grown on the copper surface depending on time. Growth of the first film is rapid. The growth of the second one is slow. The second film is formed from the pre- cipitation of copper (1) ions. The growth rate of these films are in accordance with the parabolic growth law.
